Tomas Vitvar is a senior technical architect with Oracle. He has 15+ years of experience from research and development working on many international projects. His technical expertise is in designing and developing architectures for distributed systems, web services and middleware technologies. He has worked at various positions as a solution architect, project manager, software engineer and a researcher in Austria, Ireland, Germany and the Czech Republic where he successfully managed both on-site and virtual teams. Before he joined Oracle he worked at the Semantic Technology Institute in Austria and before that in Digital Enterprise Research Institute in Ireland where he was responsible for managing technical teams in R&D projects across Europe and the US.

Tomas contributed to standardization at W3C and OSASIS and he published several articles in world-class technical magazines and conferences including IEEE Internet Computing, IEEE Software, European Conference on Web Services and International Semantic Web Conference. He also gave a number of talks and keynotes at various industry and academic events.
